Slurries
Slurries are liquids in which are dispersed nanopowders . They may be water-based or solvent-based.
Slurries are particularly suitable for liquid processes such as polishing or certain shaping methods.
Nanomakers can provide nanopowders in aqueous slurry containing a dispersant , the nanopowders charge rate is between 5 and 10% by mass . For contents above 10 % by weight of dry matter , the term pulp or sludge is used due to increased viscosity.
Nanomakers may also consider providing suspensions solvent based, on a case by case basis.

Slurry SiC 15%
A Japanese industrial implemented a slurry of SiC nanoparticles in order to deposit as thin layer coating .
This application aims to apply a surface reinforcement to different kind of matrix.

Slurry SiC 5%
The SiC nanoparticles are dispersed in organic liquid in order to be used as a polishing solution .
The performance of SiC on Polishing up the materials position it as a natural competitor of nano- diamond with a lower cost.
